The Menstrual Product Crisis in Ghana
In Ghana, the cost of pads has more than tripled in the past few years, making it unaffordable for most girls and women. The heavy taxes imposed on menstrual products, has resulted in girls skipping school during their periods, which has a significant impact on their education and the livelihood of women. Also, disposable menstrual products have contributed heavily to earth pollution.
Khadija Cares Foundation is an NGO in Ghana dedicated to providing sustainable menstrual products to women across the country. We donate sustainable menstrual products such as menstrual cups, reusable pads, period underwear. By switching to these sustainable products, underprivileged girls and women can have access to menstrual products and simultaneously reduce their carbon footprint.
